For the last two years, we have taken the money we used to spend on freebies like branded pens and stress balls and have invested it in something far more worthwhile – supporting our community investment initiatives, such as our long-term literacy, employability and education programmes in East London. The scheme has been such a hit with students that we’ve decided to continue to use this money to support three incredibly worthwhile causes and, for the third year running, you get to decide where the money goes. The causes we have selected this year are listed below:
Linklaters School, Samarua
In partnership with the India School Fund, Linklaters fully funds this rural school for 200 students. Bringing stable education to this remote part of Uttar Pradesh is already making a huge difference to children and their families. A vote from you will help provide many of the extras we take for granted: books, playground games and even chalk!
Hong Kong Refugee Advice Centre (HKRAC)
Formed in 2007, the Hong Kong Refugee Advice Centre (HKRAC) is an NGO providing legal aid to refugees seeking the protection of the United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Linklaters has pledged both funds and pro bono hours to support HKRAC’s invaluable work. A vote from you could help change the lives of some of the world’s most disadvantaged people.
Amos Bursary
Mike and Dolly Amos believed passionately in the transformative power of education. The Amos Bursary was established in their memory by their daughter, Baroness Amos of Brondesbury, to assist academically promising British boys with family links to Africa or the Caribbean. As its Corporate Supporter, Linklaters will support two young men over the next three years with a funding package, mentoring, access to conference facilities and links to our graduate programme. A vote from you will help deliver this important educational initiative.
