You'll be encouraged to realise your own ambitions and potential every step of the way. Training with Linklaters means working on some of the world's most challenging deals and capitalising on world-class development programmes. Our expectations of you are high, but so are the rewards.

Law degree not essential

You don’t need a law degree to excel as a lawyer at Linklaters. However, the route you take into Linklaters does depend on whether your degree is in law or something else. We have shown how this works in a career timeline of the training career cycle that extends from application to partnership.

If your degree is not in law you start your professional development with the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL). This one-year conversion course at the College of Law provides a solid foundation in law and prepares you for entry to the Legal Practice Course (LPC) alongside law graduates. You choose the branch of the College of Law at which you would like to study the GDL. We help you with the arrangements, including paying your fees and providing you with a maintenance grant.

This section of our website gives you details of all the programmes that are available to you and some key dates and deadlines for applications. If you're unsure which programme is right for you then why not use our 'Which scheme?' tool to help in your decision making?
